Yes, Uriah York married Frances/Fannie Rae, daughter of of John Rae. I
am not certain that John was ever in North Carolina but some think so and
he could have been. I'm pretty certain that he was in Grainger Co., TN.,
as we find the marriage records for 2 of his daughters there. I think he
was still in Patrick Co., VA., in 1787 and was in Grainger Co., Tn.,
before 1800.

I also would like to think that there is a Moses in John's background,
but I don't know for sure. It really looks like the James of Henry Co.,
VA., is the most likely candidate for his father. There is a Moses in
Franklin Co., VA., who was born about 1727 or so and died about 1802.
This Moses had a son, John, also, but I just don't know about this one.
This Moses did not seem to have the close connection to the Bollings and
Coopers as did the James in Henry Co., VA.

For John's daughter Elizabeth I have a couple of sources for marriage
records and not sure which is correct. I got both of them from this
list:

In an e-mail about Grainger Co., TN., marriages, I found this: Elizabeth
Rhea to Richard Cristell on 2 Feb 1797. No bondsman.

Meigs Co., TN., Marriages, Rhea. RHEA, Elisabeth marr. CRISTOL,
Ritchard on 02-FEB-1797.

For John's daughter, Fareby (or Pherby), I got this from the list with
her brother, Moses, as bondsman:

In an e-mail from (Charla A. Marchione) about Grainger
Co., TN., marriages, I found this: Ezekiel Hudson and Fareby Rhea,
3/3/1801, Moses Rhea, bondsman.

These two ladies are mentioned in the Mormon Baptist of the Dead record
in 1870 as well as Ezekiel Hudson. I really think that Dicey Ray Perkins
probably had a pretty good idea of who her aunts and uncles were and this
record is probably fairly accurate. Now I could not say if there are
some children of John Rae that she did not mention or not. I have not
finished reading the record either so maybe something else will show up.

It is pretty certain that Isham was not John's son, I cannot say about
the others, i.e., Looney, Robert P., Joseph M., and Lewis, but I think it
doubtful. John most likely did have children named, Mary, Nancy, Moses,
William, and Frances, plus others. Lewis is mentioned in the Baptism of
the Dead (Film 170542, Endowments for the Dead - St. George Temple) as
the granduncle of an Andrew Houston Perkins. If I can get this Andrew
Houston Perkins placed maybe I could figure out where Lewis fits. Isham
(Isom) is also mentioned in the Baptism of the Dead ( Mormom Records at
Endowment House, Salt Lake City, Baptisms for Dead, Film 183,383, Bk B,
pg 97, 3 Aug 1870) as a cousin of William Gantt Perkins, husband of Dicey
Ray, daughter of Aaron Ray, son of John Rae, the Baptist minister. Dicey
Ray/Rea/Rae/Rhea and her husband, William Gantt Perkins, were Mormons and
went on the Mormon Trek to Utah. They were also with the Mormons when
they wintered in Illinois.

I am a little concerned that perhaps the writings of Worth S. Ray which
he himself stated was speculation have been perpetuated as truth and/or
proof and used that way without further research. We really need to find
more original records before we can put this down as fact.

I would love to get this family figured out.
