I don't know who the land grant was for and the only way to find out is
to find where it was later disposed and sometimes even that doesn't help.
I do know that John M. Rae/Rhea/Ray/Rea was in Warren Co., Tn., sometime
previous to 1813 as he is buried there. There were a number of John
Rhea's and without the middle initials it is difficult to tell them
apart. John M. Rhea/Rea/Rae/Ray did have a son named John who was
probably born sometime between 1765 and 1787.
I am anxious to go to Warren Co., TN., and check out some of the original
records myself. There were so many Rays and other variants that it is
all very confusing and must be very carefully analyzed before a solid
answer can be found and even then it may be difficult.
I am really enjoying this discussion as this is the first I have really
seen regarding Warren Co., TN., Rhea families.
