Correction. D. S. stands for Deputy Surveyor

This accounts for the notations in many placed that the survey was reviewed and approved by a surveyor.

The land grant states "Surveyed June 13, 1809 by John A. Wilson D. S!

My question is, what does the D.S. stand for? This man, I believe, is the
brother to James Wilson of Rutherford Co. TN. All from Rowan Co NC.
