This is very interesting as Hannah Ritter Rhea is referred to as Ritter
Hudson Ray in the Mormon record that I found. I presume that she was a
Hudson before her marriage to Moses Ray/Rhea/Rea/Rae.
Littlepage is the surname of the lady which Obediah Rhea/Ray married.
Obediah was the son of Moses Rhea and Hannah Ritter Hudson.
Perhaps the Bolon/Bolen/Bolin family was accredited with coming to the
Warren Co., TN., area a little; however, John Ray/Rea/Rae/Rhea's wife was
a Bolon so at least one Bolon was there before 1813.
More likely the William Rhea mentioned in 1811 was the brother of Moses
Rhea. It is likely that all of John Rea/Rae's children were born by
1787. This would make this William old enough. Perhaps he is also the
same William who died in the 1840 time frame.
The John Rhea whose will seems to be lost must be the John Rhea/Ray,
father of Moses Ray/Rhea and husband of Mary Bolon.
There is a Lewis Rhea/Ray somehow connected to this family but the Mormon
record has not given him as a son of John Rhea, the baptist minister, and
his wife, Mary. I do see him listed in the Mormon record and am in the
process of trying to determine his relationship.
Additionally, I do not see a Joseph M. nor a Robert P. listed in the
Mormon record as sons of this older John Rae and Mary Bolon. If Joseph
M. is really Moses, then this is a possibility that shouldn't be ruled
out until proven differently. There were a number of Ray/Rhea/Rae/Rea
families in the area as well as the surrounding area but one needs to be
really careful in sorting out these children. To cite at least one,
there were the children of Ezekiel Rhea who died in White Co., Tn. White
Co., Tn., is closely adjoining and these families had interrelationships
to White Co., Tn., as Lucy Rhea, daughter of John Rae and Mary Bolon,
married Levi Perkins of White Co., Tn.
The early John and Mary's children included at least the following:
Sarah, James, Mary, Moses, Aaron, William, John, Elizabeth, Hannah,
Fareby, Nancy, Fannie, and my Lucy.
Thanks so very much for posting this information. Perhaps this is one of
the leads which we need. If I could only get down to that area to do
more research!!!!!
