Dear Madge, I know how frustrating it can be when others tell you without
even giving it a thought that its "impossible" for this name to be related
in any way~!!
I have Ray - Rae also and as time goes on will not be surprized to find many
other spellings of this surname. My Ray family came out of Roanoke County,
Virginia into Daviess County, Missouri where they married into the MALLORY
and KELSO families. I am also on the ETHINGTON list...try the variations of
that
name....even with research done by professionals, something as far-flung as
ADENTON has been documented as a "misspelling" of Ethington.
I hope you will continue to stick with this list and also join the RAY list.
Good Luck in whatever you decide to do...Marie Lewis-Cook-Cooke-Koch
