>From correspondence that I have with Kathleen Pennington of McMinnville from Feb. 9, 1992:
"Today my husband and I drove to Wesley's Chapel about 20-25 miles from here. The Rhea's (Moses' line) owned several hundred acres (I think) in this vicinity. We took some pictures of an old Rhea home. There at least 3 or 4 Rhea cemeteries which are grown up and rocks destroyed in that vicinity. The place where my great grandfather was buried has all been cleared away and no markings of any graves left. The cemetery where Rev. John M. Ray is buried has been fenced in, I think that names can't be read on the rocks anymore. I do have a Rhea cousin who read the rocks several yars ago and sent me a notarized satement of same."
The statement referred to by Kathleen Pennington states:
" I, John W. Bezusko, husband of Johnnie C. Ham Bezusko ( a descendant of John Rae and his wife Mary), was able to decipher the inscription on the tombstone of Mary Rae's grave as follows:
In memory of
MARY RAE
Who departed this life
12th Feb 1814 age 71 years
She wa a pious member
of the Baptist Church for
forty years before her death
Mary Rae's grave is between the graves of her husband Reverend JOHn RAE and daughter MARY BRAZEAL in the "Old Ray Cemetery", located on the property of Mr. Joe Lee Rasco, Bone Cave (near McMinnville), Tennessee.
Sworn and acknowledged...22 Oct, 1972"
