In response to the question, where did the name PERKINS come from?:
In "The Tennesseean in Persia and Koordistan," 1869, being the record of
Samuel Audley Rhea, his children are listed with reasons for some of their
names:

explicitly given, I strongly suspect that she was named after Dr. Justin
Perkins, who was a missionary preceeding and working closely with Samuel
