THe following are two Rhea obituaries appearing last month in the Bristol
Herald from Bristol TN/VA. I am unable to place Isaac A. Rhea, husband of
Bertha. Hatfert Rhea is a decendant of Iradell Rhea b. abt1810 in Surrey Co.

Bertha Mae Rhea
ELIZABETHTON -- Bertha Mae Rhea, 93, of the Life Care Center, died Tuesday,
April 25, 2000.
She was born in Clintwood, a daughter of the late Ulysses G. and Lucy Ellen
Newberry Vanover. Mrs. Rhea had lived in Elizabethton since 1946. She was a
member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church and the widow of Isaac A. Rhea.
Surviving are three sisters, Alta Hay and Delcie Butler, both of Elizabethton
and Madge Taylor of Lebanon; three granddaughters; three grandsons; 10
great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 8 p.m. in Memorial Funeral
Chapel. The Revs. Howard Messer and D.C. Byrd will officiate. Graveside
services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral
Chapel.
Sallie Rhea
LEBANON -- Sallie Rhea, 75, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Clinch Valley
Medical Center in Richlands.
She was a lifelong resident of Russell County and the widow of Hatfert Rhea.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda M. Rhea and Brenda Sue Snead, both of
Richmond; six sons, Mickey Rhea, Dennis Rhea, Robert Rhea and Tony Rhea, all
of Lebanon, Allen Rhea of Cleveland and Darin Rhea of Nashville; two sisters,
Edith Paulk of Abingdon and Lillie Garrett of Lebanon; a brother, Robert
Bailey of Cleveland, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Lebanon Funeral Home
Chapel. The Revs. Rick Wallace and Mike Rhea will officiate. Burial will be
in Ketron Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brian Snead Jr., Brent Snead, Brandon Snead, Carl Bailey,
Johnnie Bailey and Carl Rhea.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Thursday in Lebanon Funeral
