Hi, all,

I am hoping there may be someone out there connected to Joseph Thomas
RAY, son of Elijah RAY {RHEA,RHAE} and Nancy Ann MARTIN of
Washington & Choctaw Co., AL. Joseph, or Thomas, as he was recorded in
census records, was b. either 1836/37 or 1839/40 (Census conflict), and
d. bef. 15 July 1863, Knoxville, TN. His father, Elijah filed a death claim
15 July 1863 for Joseph Thomas Ray. Joseph had died at Knoxville, TN while
serving in CSA 22nd AL, Co. C. Joseph Thomas' older brother, Robert Andrew
Ray, also served in this unit, which saw very hard service. Joseph may
have died from wounds or disease---all I know is that he died in Knoxville
sometime prior to 15 July 1863.

I don't know if Joseph/Thomas was married or may have had children
before his death. It is possible that he may have married in Alabama,
Mississippi, or even Tennessee, and that any possibly descendant(s)
may have only his first name, only his middle name, or only his initials.

Anyone looking for a mysterious Joseph, Thomas, or J.T. RAY/RHEA/RHAE
that might fit this profile?

Please answer directly to my E-Mail below [I can't stay on this list, due
to high volume and less and less time.]

Thanks!

Pam
