I am seeking information on Jeremiah Gray. He was born in about 1774 is
suppose to have been in the Revolutionary War on the side of the
British. He was a bugler. My information is that he was born in
Holland and return there, then back to America and then back to Holland
and finally back to America where he married Margaret Taylor born in New
York about 1774. She was the daughter of Daniel Taylor and Abigail
Sprague. I have no information on them at all except for one little
mystery. An Abigail Sprague married an Oliver Taylor, right place,
right time. I haven't been able to find out the names of their
children. Jeremiah died in 1828 in Coolville, Athens County, Ohio and
Margaret died bet. 1860-1865 in Decker, Illinois. They had 11
children. My line is through their son Abraham born 1803 in Hector,
Seneca County, New York. Abraham married Susan Ray about whom I know
nothing except she was born in Ohio. They lived in Ohio.
My questions are
1. Is Gray or some form of the word a Dutch name?
2. Does anyone know who Jeremiah's parents were?
3. Can anyone tell me anything about Daniel Taylor or Abigail Sprague?
4. Does anyone know anything about Susan Ray?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
