John Rhea (and his brother Joseph), sons of Rev. Joseph Rhea, served in the
VA regiment of Col WIlliam Campbell. Was the color bearer at the battle of
Brandywine in 1777. He was also at the battle of Kings Mountain in 1780.
The sword he carried is hanging in the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville.
