Hello. My Great Grandfather was John Rhea. He was born in 1849 and died in
1879. His wife was Ruby Baker. b.1853 in Green county, Illinoise d. 1910 in
Coberg, Oregon. He had five children at the timeof his early death. They were
Maude, Dora Belle, Charlotte, Olive and Robert. His father was Elijah
Whitfield Rhea. b. 1823 d. 1883, mother, Elizabeth Millihorn, b. 1827 d.
1860, his grandfather was Robert Rhea, (no known date of birth or death) His
mother was Elizabeth Balch. I have considerable information on her side of
the family. My mother tells me there are many persons, sons and daughters of
the children of John Rhea, still living in the Eugene, Coberg, Portland
Oregon area. I even recall visiting second cousins in Eugene area when I was
a child...they had a chicken ranch etc. If you are researching this branch
of the Rhea family or know someone who is, please contact me.
