Through the Rhea list archieve I found the will of our ancestors I know
little about. The will of Joseph Ray gave an equal division of his land to
sons Andrew and John on 6 Oct 1766. The will was filed in Bedford Co. Va
where the family home was but Johns land was across the line in Franklin
Co. NC, and his signature on the deed is given as John Rhea.
Mom had told me that we`re descended through daughter Naomi Ray/Rhea
b.1762, d.1823. Family info is that John Rhea/Ray served in Rev. War
(confirmed) and went west with Lewis and Clark? I also know that he married
Jane Randolph and he died in St. Louis, MO in 1820.
Does anyone else connect to this line ? Though I dont know where Naomi was
born she married a VA man and their daughter was born in NC so I think they
may have stayed in that area into the early 1800s
