WRAY, Forrest D., Jr., 86, of Roanoke County, died Saturday, February 27,
1999. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest D. Sr. and
Laurel E. Wray; his infant daughter, Barbara Ann Wray; two brothers and
seven sisters. He was a former employee of Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in
Richmond and was retired from Norfolk and Western Railway. He was the
longest standing member (75 years) and a former deacon at Boones Mill
Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Thelma Saferight Wray;
his sons and daughters-in-law, Forrest D. III and Vicki Wray, Roanoke,
Wayne W. Wray, Fredericksburg, Michael A. and Marsha Wray, Roanoke; his
grandchildren, Mary Virginia Totaro and husband, Vince, Richmond, Forrest
D. ("Rusty") Wray IV, Michael Derek Wray, Corey Alan and Kristen Michelle
Wray, all of Roanoke; his sisters, Elizabeth Bowman, Lightfoot; Nancy
Fisher, Roanoke. Funeral service will be held at Boones Mill Baptist Church
Tuesday, March 2, 1999, 1 p.m. with the Rev. James H. Steele and the Rev.
James A. Wood officiating. Interment in Mountain View Memorial Park,
Franklin County. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to
Clearbrook Rescue Squad or Boones Mill Baptist Church building fund. The
family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at
Oakey's South Chapel.
