Wondering if someone can help with three things:

I'm looking for the names of the 8 children that Samuel's Rea's obituary says
he had.
I know about George, my ancestor, and the three adult children (Edmond, Mary
and Matilda) who were living with him in the 1880 census, but would love to
know the names of the others. They lived in Erie Co., Pa.

Also searching for any evidence that George Rea (1823-1888) was in the Civil
War. There is a marker on his grave, but the National Archives apparently has
no record that I can find. There is a George Ray about his age, but no
information given that would connect him to Erie Co., or to anything else I
know about him.

Lastly, I've come across a curious finding in the 1880 census. The census asks
for the person's birthplace, and the birthplace of their mother and father. In
three families so far where I have found the grandparent living in the
household, the grandparent will list his/her birthplace as one spot, but the
son or daughter they are living with will say the birthplace of their parent
is somewhere else. For instance, Samuel Rea lists his birthplace as
Pennsylvania, yet his son Edmond said his father was born in Massachusetts.
George Rea's mother-in-law is living with him. Hannah King says she was born
in Pennsylvania, but her daughter, George's wife, said her mother was born in
Ohio. These entries are right next to each other--what sense does this make?
[Just in case you are wondering, yes the family relationship is clearly
marked. Hannah King is listed as George Rea's mother-in-law. And Samuel Rea
is listed as Edmond Rea's father.]

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
