In reply to Bill Jones query: The Overmountain Men by Pat Alderman lists
Joseph Rhea and John Rhea as participants in the Battle of King's Mountain.
They were brothers, sons of the Rev'd Joseph Rhea. John was later congressman
from Tennessee and figure prominently in early Tennessee History. Rhea
Anderson (AKA Charles Rhea Anderson) was an historian and wrote several pieces
on Tennessee families and homes. He was a gg grandson of the Joseph Rhea of
King's Mountain. I am most interested in further information connected to
Dyersburg and Rhea Anderson et al. The Rhea's of Dyersburg, I believe, were
descendants of Archibald Rhea. However, It has been a long time since I
looked into these files for this particular connection.
