I am looking for a resource that lists the Rheas who fought in the battle
of King's Mountain with John Sevier
I can | recall visiting a Rhea Anderson in Blountville with my Mother,
aunt and
| brother 30 years or more and sitting in a chair that had been some Rhea's
chair in Congress--I think- or maybe state Legislature.| I do have more
information on who Rhea Anderson is in my Mother's journal
| which is at home. They did find a common ancestor. I thought I brought
the
| DAR application which had the Rhea name but failed to do that. I don't
know
| when my ancestor appeared in Tennessee before the Revolutionary War. My
| grandfather Rhea was a Roman Catholic but before he could marry my
grandmother
| he had to become a Baptist and I have a picture of his being baptized in
the
| river in Dyersburg. He was excommunicated and I think he had been
confirmed
| or whatever in Mississippi; on another trip with my Mother to Natchez or
maybe
| Greenville we found some record of something being lost at sea and also a
deed
| for a residence-- we found it and it was a very simple row house and by
then
| in a very underprivileged neighborhood. I suppose Virginia is a possible
| birth place for our Rheas but at this point don't know.
