I descend from the Rea Families in Mecklenburg Co., NC and have collected
data for some time, but have never sorted out all the data. There is
terrible confusion in the naming of children with the same family names and
few middle names in the earlier period. However, George W. Rea is unique
and he left only two records in Mecklenburg that I have collected beside
the census mentioned by you.

I have a marriage record in Mecklenburg Co., for George W. Ray, bride's
name left blank for unreadable by an earlier researcher, but the date is 23
Jan 1830 in Meck. Co.

I am very sure from the list of children's names of G. W. Rea that he is
the grandson of John Rea, Esquire (1764-1843) and Nancy Secrest and
probably the son of their son James Milton Rea and Mary Boswell altho I do
not have a complete list of the latter's children. I will be forwarding
more information I have to you privately unless there are any others on
this list related to the Rea clan of Mecklenburg Co., NC.

I also have a brief abstract of an estate probate listing showing George W.
Rea as the executor to the estate of Thomas S. Rea, wife Elizabeth.
