Gr.-granddaughter of William Hay and Pheba Brown, his wife.
William Hay was a minute man at the Lexington alarm from Stoneham,
Mass., where in 1744 he was born. He died at the home of his son
Marmaduke at Charleston, as he asked to die within the shadow of Bunker
Hill.
