I don't know. From searches of websites and of relatives, I have my
grandfather, Edward Matthew Ray 1872-1959, son of William Ray 1847-1888 m to
Elizabeth Louisa Huff. William Ray was the son of Thomas Ray Jr b 1826 m to a
Vanessa and to a Margaret. Thomas Ray supposed to be the son of Abner Ray
1790-1864 and Ruth (Holly?) b 1790.

My sources are letters from my mother and her siblings long ago and now all
deceased. Also from a RAY cousin who has done considerable searching
"" and from a website "" which has
primarily SPARKMAN genealogy but includes two RAY sisters who married into the
Sparkman family.

The above marriage record may be a different line than mine.
