We are searching for information about the parents of both Minerva Ray and
Alfred Dillon who were married 29 June 1848 in Sangamon County, Illinois.
Minerva was the daughter of Reason Ray and Elizabeth Hanks. Elizabeth , a
widow, married Samuel Dillon in Sangamon County July 1 ,1837. He died in
June, 1859. After his death , we have lost track of Elizabeth. Alfred
Dillon was the son of Samuel Dillon and his third wife, Vashti Borton.
Alfred died in Kansas City in 1886. Samuel was married four times.
Elizabeth was his fourth wife. We do not know where he was buried. It is
possible that he and Elizabeth are buried in the same place, but we have
searched most Sangamon County records and have not found them. Some one
sent an e-mail mentioning the possibility of Dillon and Ray families in
Fulton and Schuyler counties in Illinois. Will share data. Britta B.
