Johnita:

You recently quoted a message of mine on the origin of Monroe Co., TN,
in which you mentioned that "this is around the area where the Sipes and
Mosers were supposed to have been before coming to McNairy Co., TN."

Are you familiar with the book I quoted in my message: MONROE COUNTY
TENNESSEE HERITAGE 1819-1997?

In this book are more than 15 articles about the Mosers in the Vonore
area of Monroe Co. These articles give the history of Francis Moser and
his descendants. Francis Moser, son of Leonard and Sarah (Binkley)
Moser, m. (1st) Elizabeth "Lizzie" Miller in 1784. They lived in
Lincoln Co., NC, where she died in 1810. Francis then moved to Monroe
Co., TN and married (2nd) Mary "Polly" Sipes, dau of Abraham Sipes.
According to these articles, Francis Moser was a Lieut. in the NC
Militia, Rev. War, who in 1782 marched with General Washington across
the Potomac and was a witness to the surrender of Cornwallis.

Since I'm new to RHEA-L, I'm not familiar with who knows what about
which Rhea families! I do know there are many Moser descendants still
living in Monroe Co., TN!
