Alvey, I have been researching for over 5 years using many resources at the
LDS church, including their library in my home town, and renting microfilms
from their collection, and NEVER has ANY member of the LDS church so much as
breathed a word about their religious teachings, their faith or anything
related to it to me. None of them has been anything other that polite to
me, and helpful almost to a fault. They have never asked me what my faith
is, they have never indicated that my faith was right or wrong. And NEVER,
in any way, has any LDS member ever implied that Christianity was wrong or
evil, or in any way spewed out the kind of venom that I read in this
posting. If you believe half of what you write, you really should speak to
your pastor, and hopefully he/she will be able to help you with your
apparent hatred of a group of people on the basis of their religion. The
LDS church may or may not be right in their teachings, I don't know, because
I haven't studied it, and it's not MY place or ANYONE else's to decide that.
I realize that I will probably be accused of something less than perfect
Christian virtue by some for this, but that's ok, because I know that my
relationship with God through Christ is what is important, not what anyone
in this world thinks. If the members of the LDS church, or anyone else for
that matter, have that relationship, that will determine their salvation,
not what ceremonies or rituals they may subscribe to on this Earth. If they
don't have that relationship, then no amount of baptisms or any other
Earthly works will matter. That's my belief. If it's wrong, so be it. But
I WILL NOT slander and smear an entire group of people on the basis of what
I THINK their beliefs might be. And that slandering and smearing certainly
has NO PLACE on a genealogy list.

Happy Easter and may God bless every one of you.
