The Congressman, John Angus Rhea, was born 1753 in Langhorn Parrish,
Londonderry Ireland to Rev. Joseph Rhea and Elizabth (McIlwaine) Rhea. He
immigrated with his parents and siblings in 1769 and played an important role
in the politics of East TN after moving their subsequent to the death of his
father. He never married. He died in Sullivan Co. TN in 1832.
