He married Elizabeth RANEY and had 14 children. 5 died in infancy.

He married Verlinda "Linnie" Smith ca. 1825 Bedford Co., TN
4. William "Billy" RAY b. Dec. 22, 1805 Union Co.,SC-d. July 19, 1885
Wayne, Co., TN. Married ca. 1829 to Rhoda Huckaba\Huckaby. Also
married Jane Prince.
5. Solomon RAY b. 1808-d. ? . He married Louisa CLARY

8. James Hezekiah RAY b. Nov. 20, 1837-d. May 10, 1933. He married
Margaret Caroline BYROM.
