We are searching for descendants of Elizabeth and Reason (Rezin) RAY. They
were the parents of Minerva(b.19 Sept.1826);John William(b.21Jan
1829);Celia(Sila) (b. 16 Dec.1830;Reason
L.(b.26Dec.1831);Elizabeth(b.05Aug.1833). Minerva married Alfred R.
DILLON in Sangamon Co. Il. They were(according to the 1850 Sangamon Co.
Census) parents of Ara Anna,age 1 year. This family later moved to Kansas
and then to West Virginia. After the death of Reason, Elizabeth married
Samuel Dillon(b. June 23 1777) who had moved from Wheeling ,Ohio Co. Va. to
Illinois in 1834 to join his children by his second marriage(Harriet DILLON
LAKE and Joshua DILLON).in Sangamon County. All of Elizabeth's children
were in the Dillon household in 1850 except Minerva. Samuel DILLON died in
June,1859. We do not know where he is buried or where Elizabeth went
following his death. She could have joined any of her elatives(RAY,HANKS
or DILLON). Her parents were William HANKS and Elizabeth HALL. Any
