Dear Rhea list
The correct place of death was not in Virginia, but he died in Carroll
County, MAryland, September 20, 1777. The source of this data is "THE
HISTORY OF WESTERN MARYLAND". The book goes on to say that Mr. Rhea was
a native of Ireland. Piney Creek was his only pastorate in this country.
His remains lie in the burying-ground attached to this church. "
Hope this puts the record straight!
Best wishes,
Anne Rhea Bruce
