While researching in Woodville, MS at Wilkinson County Court House, I
discovered this Land Deed in Book A Records on page 137: A. RHEA to his
children--Received this deed to be recorded 20th of January, 1810 (goods and
property given): ARCHIBALD RHEA of County of Wilkinson and Mississippi
Territory of the U. S. Blood Children: Andrew Rhea, Jepe (or Jessie) Rhea,
John Rhea, William Duck Rhea, Catherine Rhea, Mary Rhea, Esther Rhea and Betsy
Rhea. Signed ARCHIBALD RHEA. Also, from
the book 10,000 VITAL RECORDS OF WESTERN NEW YORK 1809-1850 by Fred Q.
Bowman, Baltimore, 1988: number 5,492: Lyell, Julia Ann, wife of Rev. Thomas
Lyell (Record of Christ's Church) and daughter of the late JONATHAN RHEA, Esq.
of Trenton, NJ. (7/21/1824 NYC) Julia Ann Rhea Lyell was the second wife of
Rev. Lyell and there were no children of this marriage. She and Rev. Lyell
had married on January 12, 1823. Gleaning
3: Based on the 1790 Census of Northumberland County, PA, p. 187: RHEA ROB
& JN: 2 Free White Males of 16 Years and upward; 2 Free White Males under
16 years; 4 Free White Females including heads of Families; No slaves. The
next family under this Rhea Family was listed Smith, John,1 2 1 0
slaves (name of my third great grandfather's grandfather; Under this family
was John Montgomery 5 3 1 (Montgomery was the maiden name of my
John R. Rhea's first wife, Hulda Montgomery, who had died before he came to
Clinton LA in 1802 and married my third great grandmother, Emilie Rosa Raoul
on May 8, 1805 in Natchez, MS. I hope these tidbits can help someone or help
