I noted the Job Pettyjohn as a witness in the below documents. This is
interesting. I don't know if this will help but the Pettyjohns were
first in Accomack/Northampton Co., VA. From there, some went to Sussex
Co., DE., and other parts of Virginia. One named William Pettyjohn went
to Princess Anne Co., VA. I do have a lost Job Pettyjohn, grandson of
John Pettyjohn, d. 1782 Sussex Co., DE., and Hannah Wilson Pettyjohn, d.
1788 Sussex Co., DE. There were some Pettyjohns who went to North
Carolina but don't know how they connected to the Rheas/Reas/Rays. Maybe
this will help, I don't know. There were certainly Miers families in
Sussex Co., DE., at one time.
