I am posting this to both lists. As you will see the Stitt family was related
to the Rhea family. So were my Stitt's, but only later in the early 1900's.
I have seen the James Stitt and Amy Head listed in DAR index.

I'm not sure where I was supposed to send this, but clicking on the e-mail
icon seemed to be the easiest solution. The following includes some extra
stuff, but also includes a section for posting.

The following Stitt Genealogy represents my personal line going back to
1734. It is based on an epic tome produced by my cousin Lawrence L. Stitt
(6020 Westbrook Drive, Citrus Heights, CA 95621 in 1988 ("James and Amy
Stitt of Pittstown, New York and Some of Their Descendants (1734-1988)"),
and also on previous unpublished research done by my father, Rhea Emerson
Stitt, in the 1930s. Copies of Lawrences document were distributed to
family members and to Libraries in the local areas that members of this
branch have lived in. Lawrence retired in the mid-1980s, and I haven't
heard from him in several years, although his name is still listed in the
Sacramento phone book.

I noticed that one of the postings on the STITT page references marriage to
a RHEA. Margaret RHEA was my paternal grandmothers great-grandmother, and
descended from Robert RHEA who came from Scotland to New Jersey in 1693.
I have extensive notes, references, pedigrees, etc. that Laurence put
together. My father was mainly interested in researching his mothers
line, as she was convinced she was descended from Ethan Allen, but I don't
think the evidence supports that theory.

I suppose this message could be posted to the list.
