For some of you researching Rays in Alabama, some of them may be from the
REA families of Mecklenburg Co., NC. Although our particular Rea family
has spelled our name R-E-A consistently from the earliest record in 1757,
some of the descendants have changed the spelling to Ray over the
generations in the U.S. I do know that some of the our clan went to Al,
GA, TN, IN and of course later everywhere. Is anybody else researching
Mecklenberg Co., NC Reas. I am attempting to reconstructure every Rea
family there to figure out relationships. Computer data bases are the only
way to get a handle on the complexity. I would appreciate collaborating
with anyone with ancestors out of the Mecklenburg ans Anson Co., NC area.
