Subject: Fwd: 1860 - 1870 - 1880 FEDERAL MORTALITY CENSUS SCHEDULES
Date: Sat, 11 Oct 1997 20:23:02 -0400 (EDT)
Looks like this could be my James B. Craig. Adair was Green, and Green was
Lincoln.
Check out the names Turk. We all know our families in the south had slaves.
Wonder which Turk's these belonged to.

While you're still drinking your morning coffee, I am going to
start a new
series of posts before Iclose up shop for today.
In 1860, 1870 and 1800
there were special mortality schedules
kept. These included births and
deaths occurring on those
years and these are NOT shown on the normal
vital
statistics for these counties. I am going to post deaths
for Adair,
Cumberland, Metcalfe and Monroe Counties for
these years. It will take a
time and a half! but think it
might help you who do not have availability to
these films.
Shows: Name, age, sex, color, slave or free, place
of
birth, month died, profession, cause of death, number of
days ill. Many
were shown with the wrong sex... and I
question some of the "colors". Check
them out.
