Hi Folks,

I am brand new on your list and am trying to find the Ancestors and
siblings of GRIZZEL WRAY, b. abt 1698, (thought to be from Ulster, N.I or
Scotland). She is first recorded officially in Lancaster Co., PA, where
she is mentioned in her husbands will in 1739. Money for support and
education of young (not named) children are mentioned in the will.
(Brotherinlaw Charlis REE mentioned in Will). I have a copy of the will to
share if anyone has a connection here.

She had at least 3 children: Mary, b ca 1718, d aft Jan 1794, m William Clark
John, b ca 1720, d Jan 1796, m Martha Hamilton
Joseph, b ca 1722, d before 19 April 1789, m.
Elizabeth Algona
Forrest RAY (thought to be her 2nd m.)

She is next recorded in Orange County, N.C., in a bill of sale, (Book
A,page374). Her will, (Book C, page 2, Orange Co., N.C.) is dated 20 Jan
1794, probated May 1794.

Grizzel had many generations of grandchildren named after her, and we
assume she was well loved by her family. She lived to be 105 yrs old, and
left thousands of ALLISON descendents.

John Allison, b ca 1722, will, recorded Feb 1796, Orange Co., N. C.
mentions John RAY as Jurat (witness?).

Through about 200 years of genealogy, I notice that where there are
ALLISONs, there are Ray's not far away.

I would be grateful to share information with anyone who can connect with
Grizzel or her brother Charles in any way.

Thanks for listening,

Cara Franklin
