John Rea

We are about to treat of an ancestor, one John Rea, who married
Martha_______. We have not yet found out the names of his parents, where he
was born or the date of his birth. he died before 1774 and his widow Martha
married, secondly, Robert Lewis. The children of this John Rea and Martha
_____ were:

Robert, born June 22, 1762.
John, born August, 1764, died November 15, 1843, mentioned below
Andrew, born 1767

John Rea, son of the above mention John and Martha Rea, was born August,
1764, married Nancy Secrest, born August 27, 1772, died march 19, 1867, aged
94 years, 6 months, 22 days. Served as a N. C. State Legislator 1817-1822
inclusive. Nancy Secrest was the daughter of Jacob Secrest and Barbara Simms,
both Germans, who married on the boat from Germany; landed in Georgetown
Coast (date not known), settled three fourths of a mile from Antioch Camp
Ground Union County, North Carolina. John and Nancy (Secrest) Rea had
children:
