Don, I don't have a Sterling in my line from Rev. Jos, but I noticed that I
do have many of the same names that you have: many Johns, many Margarets, a
couple of Sarahs, many Robert, my father was Franklin, a couple of Lucys,
numerous Elizabeths,etc. When I checked back to Matthew who married Janet
Baxter and had William, Matthew (where my line and Rev. Jos come from), and
Archibald (where PHH's line comes from), I discovered that if I followed
William's line I came to a lot of the same names. One of William's
gdaughter's name was Polly, along with the same reoccuring names: John, Wm,
Archibald, James, Robert, Alexander, Ann Nancy, Elizabeth, Thomas. Looks like
you may be from the William line, instead of the Matthew. Have you
investigated that?
