This JOHN RAY was from Anne Arundel Co. MD. Apparently he had a
grant of 3400 acres in KY, much
of which he sold his sons.
I find it interesting that he named a son REASON. Was there any
connection between this family and
the REASON RHEA of Washington Co. VA 1810, (who I believe was the
same REASON as the REASON
RAY of Russell Co. VA in 1820) ? Also, BARTON RAY of Botetourt Co.
VA 1810, Montgomery Co. KY 1820,
Jennings Co. IN 1840 and Lee Co. IA, also named a son REASON. Does
anyone know of a connection
between these families? Perhaps back in MD?
