I am re-posting this to the RHEA list since several new members have
joined. I am searching for the ancestry of William Ray/Rea who was born
in Ireland (ca 1710 ?) and came to America sometime before 1750, first
settling in Derry Twp., Lancaster Co., PA before moving to St. Matthew's
Par., Orange Co., NC. William Ray's will was probated in Orange Co., NC
in May, 1774. His wife's name was Catherine (-------) and they had the
following children:

(1) Mary - b: 1734, Ireland; d bef 1807, Orange Co., NC; m: Michael
Robinson, ca 1753, (PA).

(2) (William) - b: 1730, Ireland; aft 11 Mar. 1794, Orange Co., NC;
m: Martha (-------).

(3) ( Dau ) - b: (Ireland); m: John Mordah, (NC).

(4) ( Dau ) - b: (Ireland); m: James Mordah, (NC)

(5) (Robert) - b: Ireland/NC; m:(1) (---------); m:(2) Hannah (------).

(6) ( Dau ) - b: Ireland/NC; m: Patrick Rutherford.

(7) (David) - b: Ireland/NC; d: bef May 1808, Orange Co., NC.

(8) (John) - b: Ireland/NC; d: bef Feb. 1829, Orange Co., NC; m:(1)
(----------); m:(2) Sarah (Sallie)Miller, bef Feb. 1795.

(9) (Joseph) - b: Ireland/NC; m: Lydia Miller

Obviously, this group sheet is a bit sketchy. If anyone out there can
help with an Irish connection for this William, I would appreciate it
very much.
