Family Bible (Mathew Carey: Phila. 20 Oct 1801)
purchased at public sale in Adams Co. PA between 1959-68
contains genealogical records deciphered and transcribed as follows:

MARRIAGES:

"Robert Rea maried to Eliz-a Crawford the 17th of March in
the year 1795 A.D. Living in Adams County Hamptleban Township.

DEATHS:

March 7th 1805 Died William Crawford of Lancaster County
Leacock Township in his 65th year

July 27th 1792 Died Ann Rhea the wife of John Rhea of
Franklin County Montgomery Township Aged at Death 92 years

John Rhea Died April 28th ______ About 82 years of Age
the Son of James Rhea of [illegible]

In 1992 or 1993 I placed ads about this bible in a Franklin Co. and in a
Lancaster Co. newspaper, without getting a response.

I am now asking for help on line to circulate and publicize the existence
of the information the Rhea bible contains. (Making a GEDCOM out of it
is impossible.) I am sure there must be someone out there who would like
to have the information, and I will give it freely. Secondly, I would
like to know if the big old crumbling book itself is wanted by a
descendant of someone named in it. If all they want is the information,
I would like to be told they have the information and do not want the old
book so I can then put it in some archive or discard it. We've moved
about a dozen times since I bought this old book and we have carried it
around in our household goods all that time. My wife does not want the
responsibility of caring for it if I "go first," and I must say I don't
blame her!

The Bible itself may be obtained by demonstating:

(1) First and most important, I want to be sure of a family relationship
to one or more of the persons named
(2) Somewhat less important, furnishing costs associated with delivery
(3) I bought it for $11 and will accept reimbursement for this cost, but
this is not at all important
