#65- Augusta Co.,VADeedBook21,5-16 Leases and relaeases dated and
recorded in February and March, 1775. William Jr. purchased 300 acres (pages
5-8), James 125 acres(pages 9-13), and John, 110acres (pages 14-16). The
deeds located the tracts on Mil Creek, which was Elm creek in the deed of
1767(Ref.64).

#66- Augusta Co.,VAWillBook5, 196-198 Will of Archibald Reah/Reagh Jr.,
son of William, Dated November 1, 1773, recorded March 15, 1774. Mentions
his "dear children," and names his wife, Margaret, and "my Uncle Archibald
Reah" executors. Witneses were Wiliam Rhea, Michael Coulter, and James
Clark. Margaret was bonded to make an inventory of the "singular goods and
chattles and credits of the said deceased."

Rhea.

Page 1: "William Rhea his book price price(7) William Rhea. Robert
Rhea his book price 18-6 bought on 17th September 1802. (?) James Rhea
born on Thursday the 25th April 1799. Nancy Rhea born on Thursday the 19th
March 1801. Elisabeth Rhea born on Wednesday the 7th Of September 1803 and
Hannah Rhea born on Saturday the 5th of April, 180-(1806 only year between
1803 and 1809 when April 5th fell on Saturday). Anne Rhea born on Tuesday the
4th of April 1809. David Rhea born Thursday September 12, 1811. Archibald
Rhea born June the 5th Friday 1818.

Page 2: "Father William Rhea departed this life the 25th April 1802.
Brother Archibald Rhea departed this life the 5th Ocotober 1773. Brother
James Rhea departed this life the 27th November 1795. Mother Elisabeth Rhea
departed this life on 23 day of November 1804. Daughter Nancy Rhea departed
this life the 18th day of July 1805. Daughter Elisabeth Rhea departed this
life the 31st day of July 1805. Father Robert Rhea departed this life October
the 31st 1834 age 75 years. Mother Catharine Rhea departed this life
September 21, 1856 age 81 years ten months and 9 days."

#68- Augusta co., Va Guardian Bonds, 1775-1804,7. Bond dated March 18,
1777. William Reah and John Campbell named guardians of William, Hugh, and
John Reah, orphans of William's son, Archibald Reah. William McPhettors and
James Wallace signed the bond, valued at 1000 pounds.

#69- Augusta Co., VADeed Book 1-A, 220-222. Dated February 1, 1797,
recorded April, 1797. "Between John Rhea and Hugh Rhea devisees of Archibald
Rhea decd. and Rebecca Rhea wife of said Hugh of the County of Knox in the
State of Tennessee of the one part and David Bell of the County of Augusta
and State of Virginia of the other part...two hundred and thirty acres which
were conveyed to ...Archibald by William Rhea by deed of lease and release
bearing date of 16th and 17th day of October 1769..."

#72 Augusta Co.,VA WillBook 7, 38-39. Will of Thomas Meek, father of
Elizabeth Meek, who married James, son of William Rhea, and of Martha Meek,
the first wife of James' brother, Robert. Dated June 26, 1786, proved
January, 1788. The author has a copy of the original will. Named his wife,
Agness, sons, Daniel Meek, Samuel Meek, John Meek, and daughters, Elixabeth
Reah, Mary Vachub(?), and Martha Reah, John Meek and James Reah, executors.
Signed "Thos. (his mark) Meek."

The appraisal of Agness Meek's estate was made October 8, 1794, and
recorded April, 1795.

In December, 1805, Elizabeth (Meek,Rhea) Stockton, daughter of Agness
and Thomas, gave power of attorney to William Rhea (Jr.) of Green County,
Kentucky, that he might "demand and receive all of the estate of Mother Nancy
Meek deceased now in the hands of Betsey Meek widow of Daniel Meek deceased
which belongs or is coming to me. "Barren Co., Ky Deed Book A, pp.237-238.

#73 Petition to form a new county from Augusta County, VA, dated April 15,
1778. Copy of the original is located in the Virginia State Library,
Richmond. All four signatures look alike, and have the "Rhea" spelling,
perhaps its earliest use by the Virginia Rheas. Similarity of handwriting
suggests that many of the signatures on the petition were forged, including
some or all of the Rheas. See the article on BENSON, TRIMBLE AND HARPER
submitted by William N. Stryker, page 118 of The Bicentennial History of Bath
County, Virginia.

#74 Petition against a new county to be formed from Augusta County,
Virginia, dated may 27, 1779. Copy of the original is located at the Virginia
State Library, Richmond. Among the ptetitioners was James "Reaugh."

#75 Augusta Co., Va Deed Book 22, 469-472 Dated March 16, 1779, recorded
March 16, 1779."...Between James Reah and Elizabeth his wife...of the one
part and James Bratton...of the other part...two parcels...one containing two
hundred acres by pattent dated the 27th of August 1770...on Mill Creek...and
other tract of 125 acres date February the 3rd, 1775...part of a tract of 600
acres in possession of Wm.Reah... "William Rhea, Thos. Hughart, & John
McCrury, witnesses.

#76 Morton, Oren F., Annals of Bath County, Virginia, (Staunton, VA: The
McClure Co., Inc., 1917). On p. 115, he states that James "Reaugh" was head
of family on the Greenbrier River in 1782, and on p. 189 he indicates that
amill was located on the farm he sold in 1779.

#77 Tax Books of the Kentucky Counties, Fayette County Taxable Property,
1789. 10. The name was spelled "Ray." Uncertainty exists that he was James
REah/Reaugh of Mill Creek and the Greenbrier.

On February 18, 1799, Robert and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Meek)
Rhea, purchased 200- and 125-acre tracts respectively of "2nd rate land" in
Barren County under "an act for encouraging and granting relief to settlers."
