Just looked at your message again, and say that 1739, that date always makes
me sit up and take notice. Many Campbell's and related families, went to
Cape Fear, Bladen Co. NC. which later became Alden Co. and later Mecklinburg
Co. The campbell's and related families of McNiell landed there in Cape
Fear 1739. Also Archibald father of the three brothers, went to NC in 1758
to become a founding elder of a Presbyterian Church. I have always thought
that there probably were family members of his father in Bladen Co.NC and
that is why he went there. But then again he may have been like a missionary
for the church he belonged to here. New Providence or TimberRidge
presbyterian.
