Rhea Family Discussion Group: This is the little that I know of my Rhea
family: 1. RHEA, John married to Mary Smith (Listed in Philadelphia, PA in
1805. John R. Rhea listed them as his parents on his marriage license in
Natchez, MS). 2. RHEA, John R.(born circa 1761; died/buried in Clinton, LA ,
May 7, 1843) married Emilie Rose Raoul (born Dec. 28,1789, christened, May
24, 1790 in Point Coupee, LA.; died in 1833?) Children of this
marriage:Henrietta Rhea married Charles Watts; Mary Rhea, wife of Alexander
Couper; Eliza B. Rhea, wife of Lee Hardesty; Susan J. or T. Rhea, wife of
Hugh S. Flynn; Eulalie Rhea, wife of William H. Lyne; Alexander Rhea (died
young); Sarah Rhea, wife of George Philips; David Smith Rhea, husband of Mary
S. Woodward; James R. Rhea; Ann J. Rhea wife of Frederick Rowe Harvey;
Stephen Ormsby Rhea, husband of Mary B. Hereford; Emilie R. Rhea, wife of
Berryman T. Hamilton; and George Harrison Rhea, husband of Mary Jane Ryan.
3. Ann J. Rhea, married to Dr. Frederick Rowe Harvey. 4. Rhea Harvey
(bornAug. 27, 1848 in Clinton, LA; died March 29, 1896 in Neita, LA ) married
Ophelia Victoria Rogers (born June 23, 1849 in Clinton, LA; died Feb. 24,
1943 in Melville, La) on March 23, 1871. 5. William Frederick Harvey (born
Dec. 22, 1871; died 1906) married Mary Adelaide Boykin (born about 1876 in
Bossier Parish, LA; died July 10, 1915) on Feb. 2, 1898. 6. Sarah Agnes
Harvey (born Feb. 19, 1901 in Neita, LA; died Dec. 5, 1983 in Lafayette, LA;
buried in DeQuincy, LA) married Joseph Warren Henagan (born Dec. 8, 1885 in
Bayou Jack, LA.; died Dec. 1, 1955 in Palestine, TX; buried in DeQuincy,
LA.) on Jan. 3, 1924 in Opelousas, LA. 7. Martha Henagan (born Dec. 22, 1931
in DeQuincy, LA) married John Franklin Luby, Jr (born in Eden, MS on Dec. 3,
1929) on Nov. 21, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA. We have four children, eight
grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also, John Rhea (2) had first
married Hulda Montgomery at the Second Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia,
PA . She had died before he came to Spanish West Florida (Felicianas in LA)
around 1800. Also, on one document he was listed as a native of New Jersey.
