In a message dated 97-02-25 15:42:12 EST, you write:

Everything printed here is Mr. Newberry's words not mine.
After this the chart becomes confusing, as he believed that Matthew Campbell
Rhea, had been married twice, and that Rev. Joseph Rhea was a son.
I believe we have proven that Rev. Joseph was Matthew II son, who was son of
Matthew Campbell Rhea.
He lists a second wife as Elizabeth McLean and children as Abraham, James,
Margery, Agnes, and Joseph, Rev.
Would anyone care to comment?

Hi Pat! Thanks for your great help. So now I have a question for you all
regarding the above. Who was the father of the Matthew Rhea who married
Elizabeth McClain?
The information below came from Leroy W. Tilton's "Early Looneys to America"
(yes, folks LOONEYS not LOONIES), p 3 and Zella Armstrong's "Notable Southern
Families", 1922, p 254, and also a source on-line.
Matthew Rhea of Donegal Ireland married Elizabeth McClain and had children:
Abraham, James, Margery who married Mr. McCrabb, Agnes and Margaret (c1722
Ireland-1803 TN) who married Stephen Renfro and Robert Looney. Looney was
from the Isle of Mann. Margaret and Looney were in PA then Augusta County
before going to Tennessee (near Kingsport).
Matthew Rhea of Donegal had another unknown wife and had children: Isaac
Rhea who married Miss Peoples, Samuel Rhea who married nancy Breden and
Matthew Rhea.
Does anyone know where these people fit in?
Edna
