I am trying to trace the Revel family from Kilkenny. My great grandfather was George Revel born 1871. He married Catherine Barry in St. Canice's in the late 1890s and moved to St. John's Wood, London shortly afterwards. Had served in the Royal Irish Fusiliers and was called up to serve in the Boer War. He died in South Africa in May 1900. Catherine later married Cornelius Kirby. On his marriage entry George's father is also named George, occupation a gardener. Revel is sometimes spelt with two l's.
