Howdy

Recently I found a reference that indicated that my g.g.g.g. grandfather John Redin/Reddin/Redding/Redden born abt 1738, in Virginia and he might be the offspring of Millicent Higginbotham the daughter of Charles Higginbotham and his wife Ann Rawlins.

I found in a book "Genealogies of Barbados Families" by Brandow, where Brandow listed abstracts of wills from different Higginbotham families in Barbados.

Charles Higginbotham's will probated in 1732, listed in his will a grandaughters, Ann Reddin.

Ann Higginbotham's will probated in 1740, listed in her will, grandchildren John Redan and Ann Redan.

I believe both parents were deceased before either parent died.

In colonial records of Virginia, North Carolina South Carolina and Georgia the name is spelled several ways.

Does anyone know of a reference of a John Redin/ Reddin/ Redan/ Redding/ Redden, living with other Higginbotham's in Virginia. My g.g.g.g. grandfather John Redding married Sidney Sevier abt 1773 near Agusta, now Rockingham, Virginia. John died in Franklin County, Georgia on 6 May 1795.

Thanks for your Time
