I found documentation that George Ray was the father of Solomon ray and Mark Ray and Samuel Ray. He lived in Wilkes co Ga in the late 1780's then Jackson co Ga in the late 1790's and whn Clarke co Ga was fromed from Jackson co Ga in 1801 his land was in Clarke co Ga. Researchers believe he died in 1819 in Clarke co or Jasper co Ga but I do not know if that is correct. I believe he was from Virginia and then went to NC (possibly Surry co NC) in the 1780's then to Wilkes co Ga but I do not know if that is accurate. I am researching who George Ray's parents were and where they were from and where he was from. It was probaly Virginia but I am not sure. Ross
