This is what I have, Donna, on the Revelutionary War and the Ralphs.
You might have answered a question for me. I do not have Thomas' father's
name.
There are military records of Ephraim and Thomas and therefore are included
here. Ephriam Ralph served in the Revolutionary War as Lieutenant in a
company designated at various times as Captain Springer's and Lieutenant
Ralph's Company, 13th Virginia Regiment, also designated 9th Virginia
Regiment , commanded by Colonel John Gibson. He was commissioned April 5,
1779 and his name last bore on the company master roll covering the month of
October, November, and December 1779, dated Fort Pitt, February 13, 1780.
Thomas Ralph enlisted in Guilford County, North Carolina, in 1781 and served
as a private in Captain McRee Goodwin's and Elyah Moore's company. Colonel
Musfree's North Carolina Regiment was in the battles of Capins, Guilford
Coast House, ninety six and Eriton Springs.
This is what has been said by the Ralph family. "Three brothers, Will,
Thomas and John came to KY from Virginia and settled on the head waters of
Panther creek. John aand Will settled on the head waters of Pather Creek of
the northwestern part of Ohio County, KY. Thomas Ralph moved into a remote
section of the county in the sister state of Tennessee and settled there.
Will Ralph was born March 6, 1776 in Henry County, Virginia. There he
married Nancy who is believed to be a Sharp. She was born in 1791 and died
on October 10, 1878. Will died March 31, 1862. Their four sons were John
Riley, Andrew Jackson 1836-1909, Phoebe, William and Marion.
Andrew Jackson is my great grandfather.
