I do not have the book in my hands yet, but a family member had done research. She has sources. In my research, being a sceptic has become full time. Anna Raley was born 2-7-1886 in Payneville, Meade county, Kentucky. Her father was James Hiram Raley born 1853, her mother Anna Mary Ray born 1854 (not confirmed). An index of their marriage is listed on ancestry, as AUna Ray. All other info on her is listed "Mary" only. Her death certificate has absolutely nothing listed but her name, have it. I have Anna Mary Ray's parents as Stephen (b: 11-3-1810 KY d: 9-22-1885 Meade co., KY..transcribed tombstone) & mother as Magdalena Mattingly (b: 1829 not confirmed d: 6-9-1918 Jefferson, KY SSDI). On census with them, she is also listed as Mary. I have James Hiram Raley's parents as Thomas . Raley b: 1814 d: 1857 (no proof) married Isabella Ann Clements 3-26-1852 Meade county, KY (KY marriages). Isabella was born 4-11-1823 Nelson county, KY (no proof) & died 3-7-1887( cemetery index for!
St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, Payneville, Meade county, KY). I have Isabella's parents as George H. Clements who married Catherine Coomes 5-10-1813 in Nelson co.,KY (KY marriages). I can follow Coomes back to Maryland, but no further on Clements.I am having a very hard time with both sides. The most luck has been Mattingly that can be traced back to early settlers times in Maryland. HELP!!!!
