I'm wondering if your William P. Quarles might not be William Pennington
Quarles,
b. abt 1752, m. Nancy Ann Hawes, and was murdered 1814, TN? "They moved from
Virginia in 1809 to Middle Tennessee and named their settlement "White
Plains."
If he is, I have more info on him.
