I`m looking for information on Timothy QUINN who died 1874 in Shinrone,
Ireland, this is on the Tipperary and Kings County border and comes
under the district of Roscrea. Timothy was a horse trainer or breaker,
to the local Lord according to family history. His daughters emigrated
to Manchester, England in the 1870s when I believe there was a second
potato famine. Daughters included Maria born circa 1861 who married
Michael FLYNN in Manchester, these are my gt grandparents. Sarah born
circa 1854 who married John KERRS in Manchester , Bridget who married
Martin KANE in Manchester and another who married a CURRAN in
Manchester. I suspect there is at least one brother Timothy who was a
witness to Sarah`s wedding in 1875, Timothy senior was had died by this
time. There is a family rumour of a brother who escaped to America to
avoid prosecution after some misdeed involving the British army.
Looking forward to hear from anyone who may have information on QUINNs
from these area`s
George Carter in Whaley Bridge.
