.Hi Renée;

Pierre Paradis, born about 1878,in Canada and Lydia, his wife born about
1889 were living in Limerirck, York Countuy, Maine in the 1930 census. They
both worked in a worsted mill.

This Pierre Paradis, son of Jean Baptiste Paradis and Hermine/Armine
Langlois born about 1879 married Lydia Guillemette, d/o Joseph Guillemette
and Césaire Boutin in Rock Forst, Qc. (St Roch, Orford) on 19 May 1904.
Rock Forest lies just next to Sherbrooke.

The Paradis/Guillemette couple had a son by name of Arthur Ovila Napoleon
Paradis, born on 14 November 1908, bapt. on the 16 November in Rock Forest
with Napoleon Paradis and his wife Marie-Louise Durand/Durant as sponsors.
Napoleon was Pierre's brother - shown as Uncle of the child. In
Ancestry.com the name is indexed as Arthur ORILA Napoleon. not an unusual
mistake for Ancestry.

Jean-Baptiste Paradis, Pierre's father died and was buried in Rock Forest in
1914. Among the witnesses at his burial were Napoleon and Pierre Paradis,
his sons.

Pierre Paradis and his wife Lidia (sic) are found in the 1911 Canada Census
in Orford with son Ovila shown as being born in November 1908. Jean
Paradis, Pierre's father , widowed is living with them.

Pierre and Lydia had a baby girl Marie Rose Marguerite on 25 April 1911,
bapt. same day in Rock Forest, but seems she must have died as there were
only Pierre and his wife Lydia in the 1930 census. Not listed either in the
undated 1911 census for Orford.

Since Ovila Paradis married Rose Emma Camiré in Limerick in 1928, it
appears to me that Ovila must be the son of Pierre and Lydia. Ovila and
Rose Emma must have continued to live in the US for a few years before
coming back to the Sherbrooke area as we find the first baptism of one of
their children, that of their son Roger, in Rock Forest baptized under the
names Joseph Roger Emilien on 20 May 1934, born on 16 May 1934. Sp. were
Émilien and Rosa Paradis. (Emilien, born in 1917, and Rosa, born in 1915,
were both children of Napoleon Paradis,Ovila's brother, and Marie-Louise
Durand)
On 17 November 1935, Ovila and Rose Alma (sic) Camiré baptised a daughter by
name of Marie Albina Magella born the same day with André Létourneau and his
wife Albina Paradis as sponsors. Albina was the paternal cousin of the
child.

Might had other children baptized in other parishes, but did not look.
